Replacement of manufacturing materials

Typically, the rolls are initially made of 45 steel. Before grinding, we tempered the entire quenching roll at low temperatures. However, 45 steel rolls have a low service life and cannot meet the growing production demands. Now, we can use 9SiCr steel to make sheet metal rolls to meet demanding customers. This greatly increases the service life of the rolls and fundamentally changes the disadvantages of the life of the rolling mill.

9SiCr steel is an alloy tool steel. It is an alloy steel with a small amount of alloying elements added to the carbon tool steel. Its average carbon content is 0.9%. The main alloying elements are chromium and silicon, both of which contain less than 1.5%. 9SiCr steel has high strength, hardness and wear resistance. At the same time, it has high hardenability during heat treatment. The internal structure of the material has fine grains and good fatigue resistance. It is one of the high quality materials for the manufacture of plate cylinders.

Adjust the cutting process

Quenching of billets before roughing

Prior to roughing, the roll mill manufacturer will quench the billet. Before the rolling billet is manufactured, the manufacturer should first anneal the forged billet to eliminate the internal stress of the forging, reduce the hardness of the forging, and facilitate the cutting process. The hardness of the billet after quenching treatment is usually about HB220.
